Claire Elise Boucher was born on 17 March 1988. She is known as Grimes. Initial work is called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4and influenced by hip-hop, electronic and rock. Her lyrics often focus on sci-fi themes and feminist themes. There have been five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. She began her solo career in the late early 2000s. In 2010, she released two albums with Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Following her the signing of 4AD her popularity grew with popularity with Visions the third studio album. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and won the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in 2015. The album was praised by critics and a variety of newspapers voted for it to be the best album of the year. Sixteen years later, her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene, was out in 2020. Outside of the music industry, Grimes had a voice character in the 2020 adventure role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the popular music competition game show Alter Ego.
